I met lots of friends who come from different countries. Most of the lessons were great. My most memorable experience during the study tour is that we travelled around the city centre. Also, I 'm glad that we took lots of beautiful photos in Liverpool too.

At school, I learnt that how to communicate with foreign people. Maybe sometimes we couldn't understand each other because of our accents, I learnt to listen carefully and talk with body languages. I also learnt some foreign languages from them. It was fun!!! I was happy being with them!

I really enjoy and miss Brighton very much! I even miss my tour guides, teachers and classmates!!I will never forget the days that I had in Brighton. And, also what I have learnt. They are all useful for my future.

I have learnt to be independent. I can’t depend on my parents. Moreover, I had lots of chance to practice English during these two weeks, for example, chatting with my host family. My host family is really nice. Can have a musical family is really great! They can cook very well. When I chat with them, I can improve my communication skills and also my English. As I don’t speak English at home very often, it was a very good chance. In addition, I have learnt lots of vocabularies and expressions in the English class. They are useful. I also learnt more about England. After this trip, I think I should be more active. I should be brave to meet more friends. Also, it is really a very precious chance for me to know more about the world.

My parents' comments:

It has provided a rare opportunity for my son to be exposed to other learning experiences and the Australian culture. I am happy and satisfied that my son was able to live independently and meet new overseas friends through this program.

My comments:

It has been a memorable and rewarding experience I had during my stay in Perth. I have learnt so many new things I can't even count them all! Activities such as rock-climbing, playing didgeridoo and even ice-skating were so much fun! On top of that, I have even met new friends both locally and from abroad.

I am glad to have this great opportunity to participate this study tour to Perth. I had an unforgettable experience during this tour. Through daily conversation, my oral English standard was undeniably improved. In addition, this tour gave me a chance to experience a new culture and lifestyle in a different country. This widened my horizons and broaden my knowledge. It is crystal clear that this study tour to Perth is a very meaningful program. Moreover, places that I went in Perth, such as Caversham Wildlife Park, Bell Tower and the Perth CBD, are worthwhile for me to go. I also enjoyed staying with the host family in the weekend. All in all, this tour is a very valuable experience for me.

My most memorable experience is staying with my host family. It is such a great time to play, to cook, with them. Their living style is different from us in Hong Kong. I found it interesting.

Entered the Science World and played war game. I could see a lot of different kinds of animals like dinosaur fossils and specimen. They had years of history and they were looked like the real one. The war game was very exciting because I needed to go everywhere to hide myself and shoot people. It's so different to hide myself and it made me felt so tired.

LAM King Wa ‘s father:

Going abroad for study tour is one of the important activities for summer vocation. My son was very happy to join the LST Young Ko Hsiao Lin Secondary School, Perth Study Tour 2012. The program was organized by Australian Education Association-International Student Exchange Centre.

During the three weeks in Perth Study Tour, he learnt a lot from it. English course, Didgeridoo lesson, Street performers, Museum and Kings park, such series activities gave students opportunity to practice their English, make some understanding of local custom and cultural.

Living independently in the host family, he learnt that local people have concept of protecting environment, water and energy. They are living in natural way and simply life-style. He was very impressed by their hospitality and the delicious meals.

During the days in Perth, my son also went around Perth city, University campus, seashore with his friends and took a lot of photos. It was every excited for him to be the winner of the PEC Facebook competition 2012.

The Study Tour really impressed him and encourages him in his further study. When back from Perth, he is showing us the photos and shares his first abroad study tour experience.

Thank you for the briefing sessions before the tour, they were very important and necessary for both parents and students. You have done well. We parents will support my son to take the study tour again during his middle school study.
